If you are a bike lover and you own a bike, then a motorcycle lift is a must-have in your garage. A motorcycle lift is basically a metal table, supported by crisscrossing metal bars at the bottom and used to raise motor cycle off the ground so as to help the user to clean the bike and also to check any problem in is. These type of lifts are powered by air or hydraulic cylinders. A motorcycle lift powered by
hydraulic cylinders is called a
hydraulic motorcycle lift. The basic advantage of using a hydraulic lift is that it has the capacity to handle very heavy loads of 600 to 700 kg.

Buying Tips
-
It is to be noted that the bike lifts are available in varied sizes. So know the size of your bike and accordingly buy the lift. The lift's size depends on the bike's size. It should be slightly larger than the size of the bike so that there is no chances of the bike falling down when you are raising or lowering the bike.
-
Motorcycle hydraulic lifts should have side extensions. When using a lift, the person usually gets on the bike. Side extensions help to get off the bike when it is raised. Hydraulic lifts with 8-inch side extensions are ok but larger bikes need to have 12-inch side extensions or bigger. Side extensions are also helpful when laying down tools nearby.
-
Check the weight capacity of the lift. The hydraulic cylinders in hydraulic motor cycle lifts can lift up to 680 kilograms. For heavy weight bikes, hydraulic lift is a good choice. For business purpose, select those models which have sturdier lift tables or more robust design.
-
Also find the maximum height that the lift can raise.
-
Also know about the power used to run the hydraulic cylinders, whether single phase or multiple phase power unit.
Maintenance Tips
- Make sure to switch off the engine of the motorbike before raising it.
-
Check whether the motorcycle lift's security blocks and wheel clamps for the bike's are tightly secured or not.
-
Clean the lift regularly. Keep it dry and store it in your garage, properly covered so that it does not get rusted or polluted. Also check regularly the fluid in the cylinder. Never run a lift when the cylinder is empty or not up to the required level.
-
Check the oil condition as well.
