09 April, 2010- Following tips can
be followed for safe operation with
hydraulic
machines :
- The working units should be blocked up when one needs to work on
a raised system. Hydraulic lift should be avoided here.
- The hydraulic working units should always be lowered to ground
prior to leaving the machine.
- Since oil leakage under pressure is a fire hazard, all lines and
line connections should be ensured tight and undamaged as it can
render personal injury.
- Hydraulic system should never be serviced, unless absolutely
necessary, during the running machine engine.
- Machinery should be parked out of the reach of children.
- While shifting a machine, the cylinder stops should be locked in
order to hold the working units solidly in place.
- Cylinders should never be removed until the working units rest
still on the ground or securely on safety stands or blocks.
- All hydraulic pressure should be relieved and the accumulator
should be discharged prior to the disconnection of oil lines.
- While dealing with heavy hydraulic pumps and control valves,
chain hoist or floor jack can be used to support their removal.
- Hydraulics should be kept in proper adjustment to ensure the
control of unit.
- A nonvolatile cleaning solvent should be used while washing the
parts.
