For any hydraulic presse whether in the form of stamping sheet metal or forming composite components, it is very essential to select the right press return or control for your application. Identifying the relevant hydraulic press controls used in these processes can eliminate additional costs and start up delays. Hydraulic press provides the desired press stroke to meet your application needs, including the adjustment of the overall travel of the ram. It can be configured to return at a given position or a given force.
For any
hydraulic press, the most important factor in choosing a hydraulic press, is to match the press capability to the needs of the application. There are different types of hydraulic press controls available which we are discussing below:
Hydraulic Press Control
Different Types of Hydraulic Press Controls
Return on Pressure Control
This is the most popular and economical performance capability for a hydraulic press. Because a press can produce full tonnage anywhere in the stroke, return on press control lends a great deal of inherent flexibility. Dies with integral stop blocks but multiple shut heights can be easily run on the same press with minimal set up. Besides flexibility and reduced set up time, dies and applications that are designed for control gain absolute repeatability at very little cost. Even traditional punch tooling can be run under return on pressure mode. Today, most dies are being designed with stop blocks either built into them.
Return on Position Control
This is another commonly requested performance capability. In mechanical press, the ram always strokes to the same bottom position every cycle. In case of a hydraulic press, the ram can be controlled to stop and return at any point in the stroke. The repeatability and accuracy of position control varies vastly and is dependent upon many variables like speed of the ram, the type of valve used, the type of work being performed, etc. The performance level has an impact on the cost of the hydraulic and control systems.
Basic Press Control
This control is an economical solution to upgrade or retrofit any mechanical air clutch press. The basic press control with its dual processor technology, is perfect for an inexpensive safety upgrade.
Press Control with Basic Automation
This is a basic press control and automation system that integrates die protection, brake monitoring, counters, programmable limit switches, motion detection and job storage into an encoder based package.
