Hydraulic vehicle hoists are meant for raising various transportation units for repairing and maintenance. Though it calls for an extra amount of care and attention to ensure the safety of people working with and around it.
Mentioned below are few guidelines, which can come handy while loading, raising and lowering the hydraulic vehicle lift.
Holding Transportation Units
Hydraulic Vehicle Hoist
In order to load a hydraulic vehicle lift correctly, first of all ensure that the doors are tightly closed. The transmission should be set in neutral while the engine should be turned off. Make sure that you shut down all the nagging things like an antenna etc. or else it might get damaged. Next, look for appropriate locations beneath the lift to hold the vehicle right in place and placing the pads into correct position.
Before leaving the actual working area, check if the blocks are holding everything in place. The entrance having automatic chocks would have to be checked for its upright and secured position while the front ends would have permanent chocks which too would have to be checked.
Checking the Vehicle Lift
Never commit the mistake of raising the equipment right at the beginning. Make sure you raise them till the point they are comfortably supported by the vehicle lift. Thereafter take a round around the
hydraulic lift to see if the pads are exactly where you wanted them to be and whether the load is not tilting on the supports. Wrong exertion of force can cause a considerable amount of damage to the vehicle as well as the people working around it. Keep testing and checking until you are hundred percent sure about its correctness.
Raising The System
Once you are sure about the safety and pre-adjustments, hoist up the vehicle slowly and steadily to avoid the jerking of load. For self safety and the safety of people working around it, make sure load the vehicle lift correctly with utmost care and caution.
