Torque wrenches are simple devices used for applying a certain amount of circular force for tightening or removing a bolt or nut.

Below are few precautions one should follow while handling a torque wrench:
Read the Operating Manual
Make sure that you go through the torque wrench calibration certificate and operating manual thoroughly. Its a useful manual describing the instructions as well as suggesting the right amount of torque as per the project.
Check the Wrench
One should follow the golden rule of checking the complete wrench before putting it to use. The wrench should not have any part missing and the movable parts should be turning in the right direction too.
Wear Safety Goggles
Since the tiny particles of rust and dirt can effect the eye, it is essential for the wrench user to wear safety goggles to protect the eyes from any kind of damage.
Get rid of Dangling Things
It is wise to keep your loose clothing, jewelry, hair or tie etc. absolutely away while working with a torque wrench as it can get tangled within the device and cause serious injuries.
Get rid of Dangling Things
Last but not the least, one should wipe clean the wrench with a dry cloth after every use. The torque setting also needs to be reduced to the lowest before putting it off.
